2018 Claire-Obscure Cabernet Sauvignon

For our first venture into Cabernet, we selected an exceptional site in the heart of Napa Valley. Staying true to our cool climate roots, we crafted this wine with the intent of marrying the opulence "Dark" of Napa Valley Cabernet with the delicate "Light" winemaking philosophy that has become our signature. The result is dense, balanced Cabernet that has been tamed over 24 months in French oak. 

This St. Helena Cab opens with pipe tobacco and vanilla, giving way to copious amounts of cedar and tinder box.  Super soft and sexy.  Vanilla husk, Caribbean rum, and a touch of sweet molasses. The 2018 is a more integrated, more gentle version of the 2017 but with a similar flavor profile.
