Since the planting of these vines, they’ve learned to grow with little water out of almost pure volcanic rock. The drought conditions of 2015 didn’t faze these resilient vines. The struggle between vine and rock produced an elegant Pinot. The eucalyptus trees at the edge of the property lend a very light mint quality at the end of the finish. This Pinot, even with the small berry size, produced a delicate Pinot. The free run juice and press wine were kept separate and aged on the lees for 10 months, one in new Tarandsaud French oak barrel and the other in a once used French oak barrel.
